about us

a barbershop shaped by tradition, refined by craft, and driven by the people who walk through our doors

A person is getting a haircut from a stylist. The stylist is using scissors and a comb on an older man's hair in a barbershop or salon setting.

Urbano began in 2001 in the same Subiaco space we work from today.

What started as a small, honest barbershop built on tradition has grown into a place known for consistency, care and modern men’s grooming.

Our founders, Alex and Lou, each brought more than 35 years of experience — and a simple philosophy:

no fluff, no ego, just proper barbering done well.

They believed in listening first, treating people with respect, and creating a space that felt familiar and welcoming.

That spirit still guides us.

We honour the traditional craft we were taught while embracing contemporary techniques, precision cuts and premium products that suit the way people live now.

But more than anything, Urbano is about how you feel when you walk in — and when you walk out.

A sense of comfort.

A sense of trust.

A sense that no matter whose chair you sit in, you’ll be understood and taken care of.

This has always been our purpose:

to offer genuine craft, delivered with care — and a place people look forward to returning to.

our values

Craft

We take pride in precision — the details matter.

Consistency

Every visit, every barber, every time.

Care

We look after people the same way we look after our craft.

Growth

We remain curious, learning and evolving as styles change.

WHAT TO EXPECT

A relaxed, welcoming environment.

Straightforward, honest service.

Clear communication about what we’re doing and why.

And a result that grows out cleanly and suits your day-to-day life.

Whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth, you’ll receive the same level of care and consistency.

Their influence instilled in him a deep respect for the craft and a commitment to doing things properly. For Sandro, barbering has always been about people — the connections built over time, the trust shared, and the small moments that leave someone feeling lighter and more confident.
